Power Thought of the Day

It is not what we do that matters, but what a sovereign God chooses to do through us. God doesn't want our success; He wants us.

Woman Work by Maya Angelou ~ Dedicated to My Dear Mother

Mom I dedicate this beautiful poem to you today, thank you for your beautiful soul, as you stood with me and slept with me on the floor of my hospital room as I lay dying. God stood with you and laid with you. He wrapped and covered us with His Love. Thank you for being a super, fantastic mother. This poem reflects your life as you raised us; your six children, much, much love to you Mom, and I know in my heart that God has you in the palms of His very loving Hands.

~Jeremiah 1:5 - Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.~

Woman Work

I've got the children to tend
The clothes to mend
The floor to mop
The food to shop
Then the chicken to fry
The baby to dry
I got company to feed
The garden to weed
I've got shirts to press
The tots to dress
The can to be cut
I gotta clean up this hut
Then see about the sick
And the cotton to pick.

Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.

Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
'Til I can rest again.

Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.

Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You're all that I can call my own.

~Maya Angelou~
